how can i fix my citroen saxo 1.1?

how can i fix my citroen saxo 1.1 that keeps cutting off the engine when the accelerator is not going with a bit of clutch pressed or braking at a t-junction and actually stopping? thoughts are that it is the alternator if so how could it be fixed? cheers

We are having a similar problem, the car will start fine but when driving it jerks and eventually stalls. Thought it may be misfiring but changed plugs and leads and it still does it. Anyone know what this could be, pretty sure its an electrical fault rather than a mechanical fault. Someone told me coil pack and distributor may need replacing- any suggestions?

Hi Chris,If you are saying your saxo stalls at junctions and rounderbouts etc, then if you gain access to the air intake and spray the area around the throttle butterfly I find that usually cures the problem.
Good luck.
Regards Mark.
