how can i fix my pair of ghd 3.1 B hair straighteners?

I had a pair of ghd hair starighteners about 2 yrs ago but over these last few weeks, they have been heating up then going off and sometimes they dont even come on, i have done a bit of research and seem to think it is the thermal fuse inside the straighteners but have no idea how to fix this, can anyone help?

hi laura, thermal fuse would not give this fault, if thermal fuse faulty, they would not work at all, more likely to be either faulty cable or broken wire or wires behind heating plates, any of these 2 faults would give stop start effect, if faulty cable, we can sell you brand new cable with fitting instructions for £14.95, which includes postage, if faulty wires at heating plate, we can sell new element for £9.99, although this fault is a bit more awkward to cure if you are not familiar with repairing , alternatively, we can repair for you, we are in scotland, cost of repair including postage is £30, email johnsemple@blueyonder.co.uk
