How can I bypass the immobilizer on a Ford Escort Van?

Y Reg (2001) Ford Escort Van. 1.8 Diesel.

This cut out on me whilst driving and then refused to start. The immobilizer light is currently flashing to indicate that's it's locked. I have tried the red key but this makes no difference.

So is it possible to bypass the immobilizer altogether??

check the wiring loom the runs along the front slam panel as this could be the problem

Hi Brendan, on your van the immobilizer is built into the engine ECU so by passing is not an option, if you get the led flashes it can tell you whats at fault 2 short flases followed by a gap then3 flashes indicates ECU identifcation mismatch replace ECU
