stand corrected on plug gap.wouldent be the first time ive found a starter robbing enough power from plugs on the button.concern was for high tension shorts in leads/caps ,had 1 once with same prob and light up the leads with shorts u could see at 6 foot away at night ,bumped fine, cured with ngk caps

Caine i think ur plug gap is way too small it should be about 0.6~0.8mm i think u r meaning imperial measure.
If the bike is starting from a push it tells u tha plugs are fine.

take out plugs put back in plug caps place metel of plug on cylenderhead spin motor u should see fat blueish sparks jump from center electrode to tang not from electrode tothe side of plug if ok gap plugs to .24mm replace.take oftank and in thedark spin motor and look for sparks jumping from caps/leads/coils to earth if so then replace caps/coilsif no spaks from coils plugs caps thenwireing fault
