HOW CAN I FIX LEAKING CLUTCH CYLINDER ON RENAULT ESPACE 2.2DCI 2001?

How can i fix leaking clutch master cylinder on a renault espace 2.2dci 2001,and how can i gain access to it

Hi Don did you solve your problem because i have a similar problem my pump popped out of the bracket behind the steering column and have difficulties to get acces to it.

Don, may I ask what your symptoms are? Do you experience an intermittant drop on the clutch pedal to the point where sometimes you feel virtually no resistance? Does this usually occur after periods of prolonged motorway or higher speed driving. I have a 03 Espace IV which has been back to Main Dealers for a recall on this but despite them fitting a spring in line with recall instructions apparently this has had no effect and it definately feels like a fluid problem to me due to the infrequency of it. Plus I've never had a car that's taken so much DOT4 fluid, like a litre in 6 months but no visible leaks anywhere. I've picked up a new Clutch cylinder and am hoping this will rectify. Looking back in the service history it had a new one fitted by Renault back in 2004 (£250) so if it is this and it's gone again they are either an inferior component build wise or something else contributes to their failure? Funny job - Good Luck. Cheers, Bob

The simple way of doing it is by changing the oil seal inside the cylinder. Make sure to use the right quality of oil seal coz different lubricant use different type of rubber seal.
