AVAST Home Edition is free and it works great.
It does not use up a lot of PC resources like the others.

I have been using AVG for a few years, and I liked it. I have to say I've found AVG8 caused me some problems. My email didn't seem to connect reliably and my system in general slowed down.

I have switched to Avast4.
