AEG Lavamat 86720w C9 Error. Bushes ok?

RE:AEG Lavamat 86720 update

I have had my machine since Jan 2000 and i got the C9 error, which when looking on the net suggested bushes... which i replaced and all was ok. About 12 months on, i get the same error but this time, the bushes are fine, i have read info about a tacho, but what and where on the motor is this, can it be replaced and if so, how?

We have had our AEG Lavamat Oko 86720 for over 8 years. We too got the C9 Error Code.

I managed to reset it by Holding the Start Button whilst turning the dial through 360 (from Off-2-Off). I did this twice and then the second time normal operation was resumed.

Not sure how long this will keep the C9 error code away, but at least it allowed us to continue using the machine.

Service Force engineer inspected the machine and found a damaged circuit board!

I can not believe this machine has failed in its 5th year.

I can not believe the circuit board has blown - there has to be a reason for the cause, things don't fail due to normal use. Electronic components have a working temperature/operating condition tolerances, where they normal operate well within these values. Something has caused the overload.

I have had the motor checked by an independent engineer who has said the motor spins ok, but the armature is a bit worn. He was also surprised at the fact that this motor was from an AEG which was about 5 years old.
