i have recently bought my daughter a 50cc watercooled 1998 speedfight which was stood for two years siezed engine i have renewed piston and rings but it seems to smoke quite a lot even when hot i have been told it may be diaphram in oil pump any help would be gratefully accepted thanks

go bk to premix! 25:1 is good dont go any leanner than 32:1 i run mine on 30:1 and shes fine

It may only be the oil pump needing adjusting.....when the throttle is opened full, then the oil pump delivery should be full too. If you have any doubts about this, remember you can run the scooter on a oil/petrol pre mix without any problems - about 25:1 ratio is about right. Two stroke oil pumps also need to be bled if they have been tampered with - there is a bleed screw on the side to assist with this.
