where are the timing marks vw 5cyl 2.4 diesel?

could anyone tell me where the timing marks on cam and pump srockets line up [this engine had sripped belt] head has been done but cannot find timing marks on the engine itself , pump belt was marked before head removal so cam and pump belt is on right but cannot time it.

Depends what year, but most have the cam locked at the end with a flat bar that sits level with the face of the head, that sets the cam. The cam sprocket isn't keyed on the cam and gets tightened after timing is set. The crank is set to tdc at the flywheel.
