1.9 diesel 2001 berlingo forte?

Occasionally , and only when stationary, the red battery light on the isntrument panel flashes together with an audible beep - any reason for this? local gargae said dont worry about it. It doesnt do it for the first few mile of a journey.

tend to agree with garage.obviously alternator output voltage is low at idle,but as vast majority of time is above idle battery will remain charged.if it bugs u that much renew alternator.
