how to programme key fob (second hand)?

i bought a key fob for my mercedes clk230 and i would like to know how to programme the key to my car. Can this be done and can anyone please help me.

i have done the same thing bought one from ebay.Rang a locksmith who programe fobs and was told thay cant be done.You have to buy a new one from mercedes £160 for a eclass
