How to prevent HP software with communicating with other software?

I installed HP Photosmart C6200 Series software Version 9.0.1 on my desktop for my new C6280 All-In-One. Somehow this software is communicating with another program, either on my desktop or on the WEB. I can’t tell what it is communicating with but it does slow the desktop performance. It utilizes >60% of the computers resources and slows all interaction with any other programs. Once I remove the software everything returns to normal. Any suggestions?

You need to use a utility like autoruns to stop it starting at boot time. The it will only run when you tell it to.
