I tried to install printer model X4270 into my laptop but was not able as it was not able to detect the driver software. How do I go from here?

As you don't say the make/model of your printer it is only psooble to give a generic answer. The first thing is to read the installation instructions that came with it. They will tell how to install the drivers using the driver CD that came with it.

If you have lost the above go to the printer manufacturer's web sites and download them.
