coming out of the petrol garage lots of clattering and banging from back wheels handbrake was warm and juddery when i pulled the handbrake up a couple of notches noise stopped but brakes had gone, on investigation the only obvious thing was lack of brake fluid and brake fluid on back wheels[drivers side] i would be grateful for any help given

best guess is the shoe/hold down springs and clips have failed letting the shoes move and wheel cylder pop its piston out.drum off to confirm.
