thomson digital reciever/recorder will not record mdel 160gb?

every time i press record the red light comes on to say its recording but when you go to view it its not there and the message center shows recording failed to record, have been on thomson web site but it says they are no longer trading?

press menu, in no.4 (setup) press ok,in no.6 (help) press ok, now in settings press green.you now have factory defaults, software revert, or format hard drive.mine still works, but I just tried it out following the other answer.Thanks

try this.goto menu.press 6.press green button.this opens hidden menu.i usually format hdd.this does wipe any imfo but works for a while.
