Panasonic DVD-RV26, Player stop and display H02?

Panasonic DVD-RV26
Was watching movie Moster-Inlaw and the video foze then stop. the displayed H02. The reset steps in the manual did not work. How can the H02 be cleard and have the player to work ?
Arch T, September 2005
H02 is usually spindle motor failure.
It can cause intermittent stopping during play or no play at all.

A few Panasonic models suffered from this fault.
In some cases the spindle motor was modified but tends to be supplied on an assembly, requiring transfer over of the optical pick-up (laser) and then full re-alignment.
This makes it barely worth the trouble.

Failure of the spindle drive IC can also cause the problem.
