product called MILLIPUT.two part epoxy resin set under water ,in diesel or oil.can be sanded ,painted and very permenant.succsecfully used in the past to repair sumps ,cracked gearboxs,and ecen once a 500 gallon fuel oil container without draining(2 applications)or strip out and get it cast welded,vastly more expensive.
