Computer locks up/Norton and AVG failed to remove trojan horse?

My norton and AVG both came up and said that I have a virus and it was unrepairable. I restarted and now it won't stay unlocked up long enough to run a full system scan. Any help appreciated please.

Download a programme called "Spybot Search and Destroy".
Type in Spybot to a search engine, once downloaded click
"Check for Problems" this should take 5mins, when the problems show click "Repair Problems" and all your problems should be gone. This worked for me, great programme and it's free.

also try using a good anti virus program...sorry my Norton and AVG etc wont cut the mustard!..in my opinion McAfee is the best.
Other than that ZuZu had it right..safe mode, full scan etc..Also if you can get it try using a program called advanced system optimizer. It clears all old and obsolete files, including the remnants of viruses.

Reboot the computer into safemode. *during start up hit F8 just before the windows start up screen*. In safe mode run the virus scan again and it should get rid of the trogan
