fiat punto - removing tracking rod?

iv just had a little disagreement with a JCB, and need to replace the tracking rod.... only thing is i cant get the old one off!!!

any ideas???

its for the front wheel... im so confused.... its where the rubber housing bit is that i cant get it off... does that help??

Steering track control rod?Having undone the nylock locking nut from the end,to release the self locking taper either use the right tool or give the cast steel housing that it goes thru a right belt with a lump hammer to shock it out.DONT TRY TO HIT THE END OF THE THREADED PART.
