I have an "old" Hitachi C32UD2TN TV, that is switching itself into standby more and more frequently. It comes back on with the remote, and when it's turned off and then turned back on, switches on automatically back to the original TV program.

Can this be fixed by me, and if not, what do you suggest. I live in Bedford, so would require a Bedford-based TV repair person.

This fault is common dry soldering connections on regulators on heatsinks. Tip, remove old solder first with desolder braid then resolder.
