GLOW PLUGS ON VAUXHALL VECTRA 2LT Di NOT WORKING?

The glow plugs on my Vectra only work when it gets really cold, -1 or below. I have changed the plugs, the glow plugs ECU and the temp sender switch all with no result. I changed the temp switch because i tryed crossing over the wires ( i put a piece of wire between the two connectors that go onto the sender switch) and with the ignition on the glow plug warning light came on. The Haynes manual says that at 20c the glow plugs should run for about 3 seconds. What am i missing? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If the glow plugs are ok the glow plug timer has probably packed in.Does Your timer light stay on for a few seconds?
If not you can fit a switch to by-pass the timer.(new timers are about 100 quid +vat and a nightmare to replace)
Buy a spring loaded switch for about 3 quid, and pick up a live from fuse box. Take the live via the switch to your glow plugs.
When you are starting the car in the morning press your switch for several seconds, you should find that the car starts with no problems.

RUN A NEW CIRCUIT VAUXHALL CARS THEY HAVE LOTS OF SECRETS NOT EVEN MENTION IN HAYNES MANUEL I HAVE CHANGE THE RELAY UNIT FOR THE GLOW PLUG STILL NO RESULT THE DEALERS PARTS PERSON SAID THE FUSE IS ALSO BUILT IN THE UNIT. I DONT BELIEVE THAT. I AM GOING TO CHECK FOR THE FUSE IF THERE IS NONE THEN I WILL RUN NEW CIRCUIT NO POINT CHANGING ECU
