How can I repair my Rowenta Powerglide Iron?

My iron cord is getting hot and the iron sometimes won't come on. What do I do to repair this? The iron is not getting as hot as it used to. I have a Rowenta Powerglide, Model DE-08. I love my Rowenta iron and want to repair it.
