How can I fix my Babyliss Pro Max 6000 hairdryer?

as it appears that the heating element is broken? Can it be done at home or does it need to be taken to a repair shop. If the latter, where do I send it to?

(this may be a duplicate as I 'lost' the first form)

Take apart and replace thermal fuse in heating element

Generally speaking appliance are not designed to be fixed or just cost more to fix them than a new one. I would buy a new one.
