i have done as it said on the instructions downloaded the disk . when i come to print anything it says printer not connected yet it is. is there something else i have to do as i am just learning to use the laptop.

Ensure that you have installed the correct drivers for your Laptop's Operating Systems e.g. Windows Vista. The XP ones will not work with Vista.

when I first had my lexmark printer (different model no. to yours though) I had a similar message come up & I had put one of the leads one goes from the mains to the printer & the other one - this is the one I had wrong! goes from the back of the printer to the usb port on my laptop. There were two gaps it could have fitted into on the back of the printer & once I swapped it round, it worked fine. sorry if this sounds a bit confusing but its not easy to put it into words!!! anyway, hope this helps
