I have a crack in the plastic of the mirror surround and
the indicator lens within the passenger wing mirror . I have got the replacement parts from VW but cant see how to start to dismantle the unit to fit the new plastic components !! Does the mirror itself pull out to reveal the inner screws of the wing mirror pod?

Push the mirror in at the bottom and try and slide it out from the top, its how you remove a mirror on a VW Crafter anyway.
