why does my peugeot 307 not start

i have a 307 rapier 1.6 petrol
but it wont start i have no dash lights or radio nothing works at all any ideas b4 it ends up in scrap yard

Wild guess but if engine not turning over it must be the starter motor

the engine will not turn over, but you can hear a clicking sound coming from the unit positioned to the left of a new battery fitted
