would it fit?

i have a seimens fujitsu lifebook s6010. the hard drive is small i have been offered a 120GB HITACHI 2.5IN SATA HDD 30565. dont know much about puters but can i fit this in mine and would it b worth it?

Just looked at your original post again and you say that the drive is a sata drive. Not 100% sure but you might not even have a sata connection on your laptop.

No that is a windows programme which transfers your personal stuff and settings from one pc to another but they both have to be running windows XP for example. The new hard disc you install will I assume be blank or have "someone elses" info and drivers on it from the pc it came out of. You would have to format the new disc and build windows from the start, and then install all the chipset and other drivers so your laptop will work properly.

I know you are not a computer expert so think of it this way, if you had two videos, yours and a completely different model from a friend. You keep your video (your laptop) and you get your friends instruction manual (the new hard disc) then you try and work the video....chaos. Thats what will happen with the other hard disc.

if i ran a files and settings transfer onto an external hard drive would that not save my drivers?

It might fit but as you say you dont know much about computers. Therefore you will struggle to get your operating system, and system drivers back onto the new hard disc and therefore your laptop will be useless.
