The bonnet isn't 'popping' open but the cable hasn't snapped at the release catch inside the car. It may have snapped at the bonnet end, is there any way to access this?

If the catch isn't floppy maybe it hasn't snapped,get someone to hold the catch in the open position and keep pushing down and pulling up on the bonnet above the lock and hopefully it will pop up,they do seize up sometimes,if it opens spray the whole lot with WD40 and make sure everything is free when you pull the catch.
