I cant get the vacuum cleaner to come on. its a hoover upright. what could?

when I push the switch on the handle for the vacuum to come on , it doesnt do anything. It is plugged up to a good wall outlet with power at the recepticalIts an old model but i can tell it hasnt been used very little . what could I look for that could solve the problem ?

try taking the place were the switch is apart and chek the wiers then if that dosnt work call the company

I have a kirby vacuum and does not come on. What should I do next. I cant afford to get it fixed yet but desprate to use it again.

change fuse in plug. if that doesnt work check the motor aint jammed. if still don't work smash it to pieces with a sledge hammer. worked for me!
