John Deere 170 turns over will not start[kawasaki]?

I have a john deere 170 with a kawasaki fc420v motor it will turn over but has no spark? The spark plug is ok i have checked it with a new one. THANKS

You need the igniter which locatated, facing front of tracktor, on the left side if the engine. It is a one inch square, 1/4" thick held with one screw into the engine with one wire plugged into it. It works with the coil to get a spark. The price is pretty steep $45 - $80. Get the S/N of your engine and try e-bay.

I have the same model. It stalled all the time when it got hot, and finally would not start at all. There is a small square part on the side of the motor with two wires going to it, it is called an igniter (replaces the old condencer) about $60.00. If this fails check the air space between the fly wheel and your electronic ignition. (should be about 1-2 bussiness cards thick, gap)
