why is the new timing belt on peugeot 306 slipping?

new timing belt fitted. now slipping sideways and threatening to wear itself through in no time.

ime not sure cos my 205 dus the same thing i think my tensioner pully is wearing out ( bearings) mine has dun 117000 on the original pulley
