made mistake of refitting battery in the dark switched polarities, dooohhhh !!! bike completly dead, what am I likey to have killed ?

on your bike there may be a fusible link somewhere that is fryed.

some bikes have a fuse at the starter solenoid.

some bikes have smallish earth cables that will fry up when shorted out.

test all the voltage paths with a multimeter, or put the batt in the right way and follow paths with a testlight!
