feed dogs?

My feed dog control on Kenmore Model 158.523 won't move. The control hasn't been used in years. This is a great cast iron machine that can never be replaced.
How can I unlock the control.

You need to soak the machine in white spirit to get rid of any hardened grease or light rust then oil with WD40.
