how do i cure excessive brake pedal movement?

the pads have been renewed and the brakes have been bled but the pedal travels two thirds of the way down before the brakes grab

if pedal is hard at end of travel then it will poss be adjustment,if pedal is spongy then you have air in system. [just a point-have you checked for excessive wheel bearing play,this can also make pedal travel too far!]
