FAULTY TEMP. GUAGE AND FAN PEUGEOT 307?

Hi. I have a Peugeot 307 HDI 51 plate. The cooling fan starts even wihen the engine is cold and the temp guage goes straight to hot. There is also a smell of burning/overheating. All coolant levels are fine etc.

were do i find it its a transverse engine is it a thermocouple in the rad or in the gear box??

Temp sensor faulty replace sensor its usually green in colour with 2 wires going to it on gearbox side of engine
