vax powa4000 will not take up water?

The take up tube in above become dislodged. I have put it back where I think it should go - but nothing happens.

Hello, I have - by toying with above cleaner- got into it
and refitted the take up tube. But now having done this, It would appear the pump is U.S anyway. I am trying to get replacement. Thanks for your assisting.
