vauxhall corsa gear selection?

hello. i have a problem with my vauxhall corsa.

it is a year 2003 1.2 engine SXi model.

i have been having trouble putting my car into first and second gear for a while now and today it stopped working totally.

how can i fix this please? is it my engine or gearbox?
