My LG washing machine will not switch on. It is product number WM1280FHD. It is approx 4 - 5 years old. The power button appears to not be making a connection for the machine to start. (Have checked all the usuals first: pluf, fuse etc).
I have phoned around the Basingstoke area and no-one wants to touch an LG ! Where can I go from here?

Power off and disconnect machine. Drag machine out onto the floor, remove back and top cover. First check the plug fuse and mains socket (done)Next check the door switch and the wires leading to it, because all the power goes through the door switch. Then check for a faulty main switch.
Try replacing the door interlock unit and/or main switch.
