How do I change the fuel filter on Iveco Daily 03 model?

The fitting on the bottom of the filter seems locked on and I'm unwilling to force it. There seems to be a spring clip but I'm unsure about removing it, or how to remove it.

this is a water in fuel sensor .push the clip in the middle and at the same time pull it of then unscrew the filter .
