I have an old (1991) Toshiba CF2771A - recently it started showing black strips on top and bottom of the image. Picture shrinks to about 50-75% of correct size; sometimes it snaps back to normal.
Any chance of repair without too much pain?
Toshiba TV's often suffer from leaky electroytic capacitors in the frame circuit, causing exactly the symptoms you have described. It is usually a very straightforward and inexpensive repair.
