IBM Thinkpad 600 Type 2645 broken connection to CMOS battery?

I have broken the connection off the motherboard when trying to replace the CMOS battery. Does anyone know how to fix it? Do I need a new motherboard? Can I just solder the connection back on? How do I get into that part of the thinkpad as there is a part of the case and another arm covering it. I have taken out all the screws I can see but still cannot open it up? Any help would be appreciated. Not very hands on but might as well try it before it goes out the window!!!

Have a look at the ibm homepage for the manuals on your model thinkpad, thatll show you exactly where all the screw are.
You can get replacement parts on ebay quite cheap but you have to be absolutely sure youre getting the right part.
Also a lot of the screws are covered by little black plastic round bits, prise them off and undo the screws underneath.
Hope this helps,
Mark.
