Battery Problem?

Hi,

My Sony VGN-SZ1M/B shows the battery as not being present when charging via mains, does this mean the battery is dead and needs replacing or is the laptop faulty?

Try taking battery out and putting back in again. Also try a BIOS update which can be obtained from the Sony website. If it dont work, it will most likely be thge battery rather than the motherboard. Good luck
