Iveco daily brake warning light fault & battery problem?

Hi I have a couple of probems with my 2001 2.8 unijet.

Firstly the battery (which is new) goes flat within a week if the van is not used. Now I have discovered that a lot of stuff is still live even when the key is out. ie the brake lights will come on when when the pedle is pressed, and you can hear solenoids clicking when the hand brake is pulled on and off.

There is a warning light in the dash for brakes, although the pad sensors are all disconnected, I think it is the solenoid for this warning light that is running down the battery, even though the warning light cant be seen when the key is out.

Anyone got any ideas?

Sorry - not an answer. My battery is running down, too, (2001 Daily 2.8 35S11 Unijet). Can't detect a significant current draw and the alternator is fine, but it's flat if not used for a week or so.

Jon - did you find the answer?

the pad sensors have to be connected to take the light out also the brake fluid resevoir cap is in the same circuit to test bridge each sensor out until the light goes off if all are bridged out and the light is still on there is a broken wire

Thanks lecky,

None of the pad sensors are fitted, does this mean the light should be on or off

check rear interior lights are not switched on constantly .this is easily done as the lamps themselves are the switches.stop lights do work with key out this is ok .
pad wires should be joined to turn brake failure w/l off not disconnected this will bring light on .
