Is there a known fault that switches my Vax V-060 off?

My Vax V-060 vaccuum cleaner switches itself off after about 5 minutes use. It will not switch back on again but if I leave it for some time it resets itself and will work again for another 5 minutes. Is there a known fault (possibly specific to this model) that causes this? Maybe some type of problem with the motor or something that detects the motor temperature. I have recently had to replace a snapped roller drive belt. Could this in any way be connected? How do I test/repair this fault.

if filters are OK a blocked pickup pipe WILL cause the motor to trip the THERMAL OVERLOAD . I think some thing was run over with the vacuum (accidentally) this went around the brush this snapped the belt the suction of the motor sucked the object up the pickup pipe but it has not got into the cyclone chamber therefore still in the black pick up pipe need to remove pipe and clear internally
a couple of drain rods are the ideal length
