Hole in petrol take requires Petro Patch, it never fails to seal petrol tanks. You can purchase this at any Halfords or any Auto shop.

use some stuff called petseal or kreem its an interal coating for the tank and seals all holes and loose rust and cr*p agood bike shop will stock it ok its good stuff but u must follow the insructions properly to make it work well ok ,adam.

Best take it off, drain it, run exhaust gas through it ,when dry and Braze it.....That will req Brazing equipment.....
