How can I restore the color to my Sony KV-32S16?

My KV-32S16 a couple days ago suddenly lost all color to the picture. -- Yet at the same time, all of the configuration menus remain in full color. If I put the TV into "demo" mode, it displays all of the text in all of the normal colors. I'm guessing that perhaps there's some sort of component that controls color out put to the tube, and that the configuration menus are displayed by a different component, which is why the tube can still obviously display colors in the config. menu. Is there some sort of way to fix this without replacing anything inside the TV, or would it require a TV repair shop's expertise, along with a wad of cash from my wallet? Any help/advise would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Had a similar problem that put a large black rectangle covering the lower half of the screen, but left a little border on both sides. It was resolved by turning off one of the closed caption displays. Took at while to figure that out.
