Fordson Major Oils & levels?

My neighbour has an old Fordson Major ("Kerosene Powered") tractor - duel filler caps, instrument panel below tank. How do you top up the oil that registers on the dipstick near your left toe? What oil for that and the gearbox (forward of the gearbox).

Is the hex plug under the seat (right side, behind 3PL control) a filler plug? For what?

thanks

You may be looking at a Spool Valve, if you want to be 100% sure send me photo in a E-Mail, and yes you are right Hydraulics do work off the rear axle oil.

Thanks Tony,

What is the plug under the right hand side of the seat facing the drive wheel?

Am I right in presuming the hydraulics run off the rear axle oil?

Cheers.

Rear axle oil filler cap (Hex nut) is the one behind the seat on top of the three point left arms.

The filler cap hex plug for gearbox is by the P.T.O selector lever, and the right oil's are.
