how can I fix my symphonic dvd vcr player?

Every time we put a dvd in the dvd side it won't play any of them, but if we put an audio cd then it will play. How can I fix this?

I have this same problem with my Go Video deck...it plays cd's but not dvd's...Nobody here has helped me yet...what's the point?
