My toshiba is 16 yrs old. We have been leaving it on 24/7 bacause sometimes we have a hard time getting it to turn back on. It makes a clicking sound like it wants to turn on but nothing happens. Is there something we can do ourselves to fix this?

My advice to you is do not touch any parts inside this set. being that it is 16 years old i take it you have the older tube rather than LCD or Plasma.Even when switched off these sets contain high voltages that can kill even if switched off and unplugged from the mains. My advice to you is invest in a new set or call a TV repair person. No serviceable parts inside that you can repair.
