how can i fix my almera 1.4 gx?

almera 1.4 gx when i start it up it starts for about 5 seconds then cuts out the engine warning light comes on and flashes.

best place to start here is to be getting the ecu (cars computer) checked for dtc's (diagnostic trouble codes) and report back with more information like the year or the car and miles, i suspect its an older one
